Lorraine "Lor" McQuarrie (voiced by Grey DeLisle) is one of the main characters of the series.

Profile[]

Lor is a 12-year-old girl, who liked a lot of sports and although she often neglects or does very badly in school. Lor isn't dumb, but rather easily distracted.

Personality[]

Lor is shown to be an all-around athlete, receiving several ribbons in "Dead Ringer". However, she is most often seen playing basketball. In "Baskets for Bucks", she attempts to win 10 thousand dollars for she and her friends if Lor can shoot three balls in a row into the basket, and although she fails, her friends are impressed she managed to get two out of three.

She is incredibly competitive and can sometimes be selfish as seen in "Sense and Sensitivity". When she was made leader of the gang in "Follow the Leader", the title went to Lor's head and showed her controlling side, but she later apologizes to her friends for her actions. The series' creator stated that because Lor comes from a large family, she had to be pushy to get what she wanted, and as a result can be bossy or loud.

Lor is of Scottish descent and enjoys watching competitions of traditional Scottish games, including caber toss. She occasionally tells Scottish folk tales to the gang, but they usually show a bit of interest in them. Her Great Grannie McQuarrie, seen in flashback, had a Scottish accent, likely making her an immigrant ancestor ("The Worst Holiday Ever").

Lor has a weakness when it comes to her schoolwork. She often does very badly in her tests and doesn't even know the Civil War took place in the United States. Her father threatens to send her to military school in "Home@work", if she fails to improve her grades, but with the help of her friends, Lor gets a B+ and stays in Bahia Bay. This episode shows Lor is more of a visual learner, as a video game helps her to remember the facts of Civil War are better than those textbooks did. Lor's poor grades become an issue again in "Tutor," but with the help of Thompson Oberman, she gets back on track.

In the series' first episode ("Crush Test Dummies"), she is shown to have a crush on Thompson, and often has a serious problem speaking when around him. Thompson likes Lor's company, but it is never shown if he feels the same way about her. It is clear, however, that he dislikes when Lor tries to be more feminine, as he prefers her just the way she is.

Lor is labeled the 'jock & tomboy' of the group, and is easily the most athletic out of all the friends. She is able to keep ahead of Carver as he's running flat out while she runs backwards to shout encouragement to him.

Family[]

Lor has a very large family, with many brothers, so many she forgets how many she has. Lor claims in "Cry" she has 12 brothers affirmatively, yet in "Father's Day" she is inconsistent when questioned by Tino and Tish, only stating she knows she has "anywhere between 12 to 16." Lor is the only daughter. Her brothers known by name are Jamie, Neil, Kirk and at least two Dannys, with an unsure Lor stating she may have three brothers with the name.

Lor's parents: Her father appears often, but her mother is rarely seen. He is shown to be a loving, but stern father, ensuring his daughter do well in school and bounce back if her grades slip. Lor claims in "Father's Day" that she cannot beat him in any sport, meaning she likely inherited her athleticism from him. An uncle Hamish is mentioned in "Lor's Will."

Lor and her family celebrate Christmas with their extended family (which is also not usually large), as revealed in "The Worst Holiday Ever". Lor's paternal grandmother is her hero and role model, and Lor greatly enjoys spending time with her when she comes to visit.
